This Ever Ready No. 6 or R40 battery is used in a wide variety of meters, bells and other vintage devices. Popular for humidity detectors used in grain stores such as the Marconi type TF933 A and Marconi type TF933 B.

This Ever Ready No. 6 (Number Six), LR40 or R40 battery is a single1.5V cell with knurled screw connectors and has the nickname 'Flag' or 'Ingition'.
